1. Intended Audience

This guide is tailored to individuals experienced in the implementation and management of physical network infrastructure. Whether you're a seasoned professional or new to the field, this guide aims to help you swiftly familiarize yourself with our latest software solution.

Prerequisites:
  • Some familiarity with network cabling and equipment is necessary in order to follow this Guide, as is general familiarity with CAD software and how it is applied to buildings and outside plants.
  • It is not necessary to be familiar with Planet Associates’ older desktop/server IRM product.
  • Of course, this guide also assumes basic familiarity with web-based applications.

If you are familiar with the older IRM product, you will find many similarities as both products cover many of the same use cases for the same target audiences.  However, in order to improve, modernize, and streamline operations, the new product is necessarily different from the Windows Desktop product in some fundamental ways. Therefore, please stay alert for differences between the two products  (we will try to point those out where appropriate).  We are confident that in a short time you will understand what the differences are, why they were made, and enjoy the benefits of the new design.

Important Note Regarding Text Search

Navigating through our documentation is made easier with the built-in HTML search functionality. You can utilize the search feature (located on the third tab of the left-side menu or the Search box in the top-right corner) to locate specific topics across all pages.

For example;
  • If you search for the string “software”, it will show all pages containing the word software.
  • If you search for the string “Software Type”  it will show all pages containing “Software” or “Type”, as there is currently no mechanism to search for the exact string of “Software Type”
  • To find a topic containing "Software," clear any previous search criteria and use the Browser Search function (CTRL+F) to locate the term in the Topic list on the left-side menu.
