One major benefit of Planet IRM is the inclusion of a large set of commonly used Categories and Types. This set of Planet-provided Categories and Types is known as the IRM Library which is organized as follows:

Equipment Library
Software Library
Cable Library
Pathway Library
Circuit Library
Consumable Library
Planet Associates packages and distributes new versions of the Library to customers with current support agreements, including all SaaS (IRM Online) customers.
Customers who run their own IRM servers must import the new Library versions via the IRM Global Console, while SaaS customers receive Library updates automatically.
The Library is managed in separate tool and is is organized into Manufacturer and Product specific packages. E.g. AMP Patch Panels, AMP Plugin Modules, Cisco Workgroup Switches, etc.
