4.2.3. IRM Licensing

IRM licenses control the features, maximum object counts, cloud instance credits and expiry date based upon the current subscription. If the license expires, Users will not be able to log in, however, customer data will not be deleted for some time after the expiration.

Licensable Features

As current release of IRM supports the following licensable features:
  • Elevation View
  • Butterfly View
  • Reporting
  • User-defined fields
  • MAC System
  • Circuits
  • Bulk imports
  • Customized logo
  • Relational Export

Additional licensable features are expected to be added in future versions of IRM.  Check with Planet Associates for the latest feature availability.

Maximum Object Counts

The license controls how many of each of the following object types can be created across all Sites:
  • Sites
  • Areas
  • Equipment
  • Software
  • Circuits
  • Pathways
  • Maintenance Holes
  • Users
  • Faceplates
  • Racks/Cabinets

The Object Count totals can altered at any point during the subscription period and this may incur additional fees.

IRM cloud instances and cloud instance credits

IRM allows customers to perform operations that involve reading and/or changing very large amounts of data in a single operation, like DDR Imports and batch updates. In order to provide fair and consistent quality of service and security of data to all IRM SaaS customers, each customer account is configured with their own dedicated AWS EC2 Instances.

Cloud vendors, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), offer a wide range of performance for cloud instances.  Of course, instances with greater performance cost more.  IRM gives customers a computing power budget, known as cloud instance credits, and allows the customer choose how that budget is allocated across the customer's Sites.

When creating a Site, the customer can choose what kind of cloud instance will service that Site, and IRM will deduct the corresponding number of cloud instance credits from the customer's account.  With this system, a customer can spend all of their cloud instance credits on a single large Site or split them across multiple Sites, however they choose.  Different IRM subscriptions will provide different numbers of cloud instance credits, but customers can always upgrade their number of credits in order to get better performance for one or more Sites.  Please contact Planet Associates for more details.
