3.2. SitesA Site is a self-contained unit of administration and data storage in new IRM and is used to organize the infrastructure to managed into a single repository.
It is used to contain information for a customers entire managed infrastructure to include multiple locations, campuses and or building that comprise a single managed environment.
It is important to understand that it is not possible to connect cables or circuits between objects contained in different IRM Sites.
Each IRM Site has at least one dedicated server and stores all of its data in a modern database system.
The Site is opened in a new browser window provides access to all Areas and Managed Objects granted to the user.
Administrators can use Global Console to create new Sites, delete Sites, and assign Policies that control which Sites each IRM user can access and modify.
TIP: The Site object in the new web based IRM is equivalent to a Dataset in the older versions of IRM. |
