This step allows the user to control how layers in the file being imported are dealt with, by allowing them to be mapped to layers that already exist or by creating new layers in IRM.
Click Map UnMapped Layers By Name button
Click on the Map UnMapped Layers By Name button maps source layers (i.e. layers in the file being imported) to destination layers (that already exist in IRM) using the layer names. It will only be applied to the source layers where no destination layer is currently set.
This option is typically chosen when a file that had been previously imported is being re-imported (presumably an updated version of it), as in that case the layers will already exist in IRM.

Click Import UnMapped Layers as New button
Click on the Import UnMapped Layers as New button creates a new layer in the destination area for each unmapped source layers. The layer will inherit layer attributes from the source layer i.e. Name, Color, weight, etc..
Same as for the previous button, clicking on it will also only work against the layer entries where no destination layer is already defined.
This option is typically chosen when a file is being imported into IRM for the first time, as in that case the needed layers will likely not yet exist in IRM. However, if an IRM site uses several files that all use the same layer scheme, then it will only be necessary to use this option when importing the first file.

Click Clear Selected / All Layers button
Clicking on the Clear Selected Layers button clears the destination layer by removing the Destination Layer column entry for the selected rows.
Clicking on the Clear All Layers button clears all mapped layers, removing the Destination Layer column entry for all rows.
|
 Set Overwrite options
When the Overwrite Destination Layers option is checked, all mapped destination layer objects (i.e. lines, arcs, and text) in the Area are first deleted and then each mapped layer is populated with new objects from the file being imported. When unchecked, the imported objects are added to any existing objects in the destination layers.
When the Overwrite Layer Styles option is checked, the Destination Layer attributes are updated with the layer attributes taken from the layer being imported.
In other words, the former option controls whether the graphical objects (lines, arcs, and text) are updated, whereas the latter option controls whether the layer properties are updated.

 Set additional Layer Mapping options
-
Typing the first letter of a layer name in a Destination Layer field will provide a filtered drop down list of result matching the entered criteria.
-
Layers can also be mapped manually by selecting the source layer(s) by clicking on the checkbox next to the appropriate Source File Layer Name and then selecting the destination layer by clicking on the appropriate row entry in the Destination Layer Names grid.
-
Once the destination layer is selected it will set the Destination Layer column to the selected destination layer.
