IRM has restricted editing and deletion of Areas, depending on the type of the IRM User.
"Normal" or lower-privileged IRM Users are not able to delete or directly edit Area objects. Note that this restriction does not extend to other collection objects such as Groupings, Projects, and Contracts, including the ability to add or remove objects from these collections. The restriction also does not extend to the objects in an Area.
For example:
a Normal user can place a Maintenance Hole in an Area, delete a Location from an Area, or move an Equipment into spares (Lifecycle Stage change)
a Normal user can add or remove objects from a Grouping, either implicitly for a Grouping that has a Filter, or explicitly
a Normal user can add or remove Line Items to / from Projects and Contracts, but can’t change other fields in these objects
To summarize:
non-admin user can add objects to Area but can’t Edit/Delete the area object directly, even with Unrestricted flag set.
a non-admin user can still create new Area and edit/delete the Area directly within 24 hours.
