In order to improve customers ability to respond and act on Alerts, IRM provides ready-made bundles of outputs generated when the alert is received in IRM. This is achieved though the Output Bundle Configurations that are used in to generate Output Actions and Output content associated with Alert Sources.
For example, let's say in case an intrusion detector in a Maintenance Hole goes off, the user would want to generate the following outputs as a bundle (zip file):
Butterfly View of Maintenance Hole
Report of Pathways that connect to the Maintenance Hole
Report of Cables in each of the Pathways
Report of Circuits on the Cables
Elevation Views of any communications hardware contained in the Maintenance Hole
Having such a batch of documentation allows managers and technicians to quickly determine the potential operational impact of the alert of event to the infrastructure.
How Output bundles get generated:
a sensor detects an intrusion and sends the info to the sensor's control device, which in turn triggers an alert in IRM using its integration service.
The integration service finds the IRM Equipment object that corresponds to the Alert and creates an IRM Alert object.
The integration service has a default Generate Output Action(s) for the alert containing and each action can generate an output bundle.
Depending on the specified Alert Source and Alert priority, the application runs the appropriate Actions for the specified Alert.
Assuming there is a Generate Output Action, the application generates the specified outputs and lists them in a new Output Bundle object.
This feature is represented via the Output Bundle Configuration Manager and the Output Bundle Configuration Editor dialogs.
The Manager is a standard IRM manager dialog that includes the ability to create, delete and edit Output Bundle Configurations.
Note: User visibility of Output Bundles and Output Bundle Configurations is handled the same way as for other outputs and configurations.
The Output Bundle Configuration Editor is organized through tabs:
General tab showing basic properties
Output Items: defines the Outputs to be generated
Editing Output Items: Allows user to set the Output Type and any Assoiciated Template which specifies the content of the Output. The list of Templates is populated only after the user sets the output Type file. If the user sets output Type to Elevation Export, the list of Templates contains a list of Elevation Export Templates. If the user selects JSON as output Type, the Template list is not populated as JSON just provides RAW unformatted output.
Assets : defines the assets associated with the bundle.
The Output Bundle Manager lists all Output Bundles and allows them to be deleted.
Note: an Output Bundle cannot be created directly in this manager.
For each Alert, users are able to download the Output Bundle. This is possible by click on the “download“ buttons to the Alert Manager and Alert Editor. The buttons are visible only when the Output Bundle is ready for downloading. Also, there is a separate column in the Alert Manager indicating the status of the Output Bundle - Bundle Pending.
