In addition to the "full" Area iiPDF Export feature, IRM provides two easier and faster methods for creating DXF or PDF outputs where advanced features such as including additional object attributes are not required. These are the Quick DXF Export and the Quick Print features.
Both of these are available as context menu options for Areas in the Design Word (under Area Operations):
Note: Additionally, the Quick DXF Export option is also available via Area context menu in the Object Grid
The following is an overview of both operations - both their common and unique properties, as well as a comparison with the "full" Area iiPDF Export operation.
Quick DXF Export
Selecting the Quick DXF Export option automatically starts the Area iiPDF operation for the selected Area and the .zip file with the resulting .dxf output file appears in the browser for download when the operation is finished. This option is by far the simplest way to get DXF output for an Area.
Quick Print
The Quick Print operation, which could also be considered as an ad-hoc Area Export operation, allows the user to do an Area export without creating a export Configuration or export Template.
Selecting this context menu option opens the Quick Area Export dialog, which covers some of the information contained in the Configuration and Template editors for the "full" Area iiPDF Export operation:
The dialog consists of Layout and Options sections, similar to those in the Export Template editors
The exact same "PDF Information" sub dialog is used as in the Template dialog. It's opened by clicking on the same-named button at the top of Quick Area Export.
The currently displayed View in the canvas is used for output, using the current Layer, Analytic, and highlighting states. Therefore, an Area iiPDF Export Configuration dialog is not necessary to specify what is to be output.
Clicking on the OK button starts the export operation, which results with a .pdf output file ready for download in the browser.
