The Software Sync Op is used specify how Software instances are synchronized between IRM and ServiceNow. Software can be viewed in the ServiceNow UI via the CI Class Manager, similarly to Hardware objects.
 
The Software Sync Op is used to either:
 
To start a Software Sync Op, within the SyncOp Manager dialog, select the Software Proxy Variety under the New Sync Op... menu at the bottom of the dialog:
 
Note: The Delete action button is only enabled for the Software and Hardware Instance Proxy Varieties and only when the corresponding Sync Op is in a Non-operating state (Inactive or Cancelled).  Other Sync Ops are built-in to IRM and cannot be created or deleted.
 
This opens a new dialog to configure a SyncOp for Software instances. Similarly to the previous topic, specify the basic properties, such as Name and options for handling missing Objects and Types within the General tab:
 
IMPORTANT: The "General" and "Grouping to Sync" tabs in the SyncOp Properties dialog are editable ONLY in the "Cancelled" and "Inactive" Lifecycle Stages -in other Lifecycle Stages these tabs are disabled. The “Fields To Sync” tab is always active (for Admin users).
