The Area iiPDF Export Configuration is used to define and describe the content to be included in the resulting output file, such as the target Area(s), View and the Area Export Template.
Please refer to the following sub-topic for more details on specifying an Area iiPDF Template.
The following is an example of an Area Configuration used for exporting a specific Area instance, with associated Area Template, View and additional privacy and output properties.
Configuration Name
The name of the Area iiPDF Configuration, specified by the user.
This section allows the the user to specify specific Area(s) to be exported each time the Configuration is run:
by View (the primary method, which cleanly solves the Layer variety issue)
and by Category, which is a convenience designed to allow easy export of an entire building or campus.
Another quick and convenient way to add a specific Area for export is just by selecting the Area iiPDF context menu option (screenshot below), which causes the Area automatically to be loaded into an Area list in the Area Export Configuration dialog (as displayed in the screenshot above):
This section of the Configuration dialog allows the user to supply a View, in order to transfer specific information about Layers associated with the selected Area(s). In other words, the user can do a "snapshot" of the View's essential parameters at any point in time and store it in the Configuration, which leaves the Configuration independent of the View afterwards, without the risk of the View being deleted . Including the View in the Area export enables including the full information available with which to properly render the Area export PDF, including Layer varieties, Layer precedence, Layer visibility, etc.
The user selects the View from a full list of Views, which enables the Use View button, which copies the currently selected View. The additional action button - "Activate View", represented as an eye icon, instantly opens the associated Area and activates the View in the Design World. This enables the user to see the exact View, without bringing up the View Manager. Note that a View must be selected, otherwise the Layer information is incomplete.
This feature enables the user to edit an Area Export Configuration and choose a new View at any time after the initial configuration setup.
This checkbox allows other users to view, edit or run the Area iiPDF template. When un-checked, only the user that created the template is able to view and edit that template.
When the is Public? is checked, it allows other users to view, edit or run the Area iiPDF template. When un-checked, only the user that created the template is able to view and edit that template.
