The following section describes the process and actions that are required to use a BMC Change Request in conjunction with an IRM Ticket.
When the BMC Change Request generates an IRM Ticket, the IRM can then record all the design changes in the IRM Ticket. If the work to be done is of a larger scale and/or it involves approvals of a change control board or similar an IRM Project can be associated with the BMC Change Request and this allows multiple IRM MACS to be associated with the IRM Ticket. Otherwise, it is fine to proceed without having a Project. In both cases, IRM MACs are used to track detailed work that is done to service the Ticket.
The following sections identify the BMC forms, buttons and active links used by IRM - BMC Remedy Forms workflows.
The following key items are explained in the following sections:
BMC Forms that are integrated with the IRM MAC system.
How to run a combined MAC report directly from the BMC Request that is linked to an IRM Ticket.
How to open the IRM MAC from within the BMC Request (this requires the user to authenticate with IRM)
How to open the BMC Request from the IRM MAC Ticket URL link (requires the IRM user to have a BMC Remedy login)
Automatically generating an IRM MAC Ticket Name from the source BMC Form Short Description data.
Reflecting the IRM Ticket and/or Project Status in the Remedy Request.
Creating Filters that invoke REST API calls to IRM to close or cancel the IRM Ticket and associated MACs / Projects if the BMC Change Request is closed or cancelled from within the BMC Remedy system.
In addition, the following use cases explain how to execute the following actions:
create a ticket request
create different design and installation documentation
generate different reports
manage workflows
commit the ticket
commit the transactions in IRM
create all of the relevant asset and CI entries into the BMC Atrium database
By the end of this section of topics, the reader should be able to understand how to use the IRM application to integrate workflows, design documentation and incorporate CI items into a single consolidated and combined workflow.
