EBOM Items

Another tab in the MAC Editor dialog is the EBOM Items tab, which has content similar to the Project "EBOM Items" tab. The purpose of this tab is to allow a MAC to be used as a kind of standalone mini-Project.

Below is an example of this tab in a MAC.  It displays two data grids:

To view the EBOM Instances for a particular EBOM Type Line Item, that Type Line Item needs to be selected in the top grid, as seen in the screenshot below:

A MAC contains information about

When an Equipment or a Cable is created under a MAC, a new Instance Line Item is automatically created. If the relevant Type does not already have a Type Line Item, one is created. If an Equipment or Cable that was created under a MAC is subsequently deleted under the same MAC, its Instance Line Item is removed.

Notice there is no "+" button for Type Line Items and no "Paste" button for Instance Line Items. This is because the only way to add Line Items to the MAC EBOM is to create them when the MAC is active, using the Design World or some other mechanism outside of the MAC Editor.

There is a "pencil" action button for each Type Line Item, which opens the EBOM Item Editor subdialog, the purpose of which is to enable users to add Ancillary Items:

This sub-dialog enables inline adding of Ancillary Items simply by clicking on the "+" button (top-right corner of the data grid), as well as easy removal of items by clicking on the "x" action button for the desired row. Adding a new item automatically creates a new row in the grid, with no data populated.
The user then specifies:

Clicking on the OK button saves the Ancillary Items and updates the EBOM Item.

If the user adds Ancillary Items to a Type Line Item in the MAC's EBOM and the MAC is then pushed to a Project, the Ancillary Items are pushed to the Project if and only if the Project doesn't already contain a Type Line Item with the same Ancillary Item. In other words, if the Project contains a Type Line Item for the same Type and that Type Line Item already has an Ancillary Item of the same Consumable Type, the Ancillary Item is ignored.
