4.3.14.5. Quick View

On the main application screen there is a Quick View panel located at the far right side of the screen that is hidden by default but which can be expanded with a click on the arrow. The panel is divided into several accordion (collapsible) sections - Properties, Clipboard History, Favorites and Recently Opened.

This panel enables several convenience features:

The last three features give the user multiple options for re-finding objects that are used more frequently.

The following screenshot displays the fully expanded Quick View panel with all of its accordion sections. The following text explains its most important features.

Properties

1. Properties
The Properties section displays the list of all field - value pairs usually displayed in the object Properties dialog for the currently selected object, basically representing a quick view of the object's properties.
2

Clipboard History

2. Clipboard History
A new object is added in the Clipboard History grid each time a user selects Copy (from context menu) on a Managed Object from any place in the application.

The grid displays several pieces of information:
  • the object's Category - this includes the full path of Categories, according to the Category hierarchy (parent-child Category relationships)
  • the name of the object's Type
  • the object's Name, as a hyperlink. Click on it opens the object's Properties dialog.

The most recent entries are placed at the top of the grid. Note that all grids in the Quick View have a fixed number of entries, so items will eventually fall off the list as they are replaced with more recently added entries.

Favorites

3. Favorites
A new object is added here each time a user selects Favorites option from the context menu on a Managed Object from any place in the application. The grid displays the same information as in the Clipboard History and Recently Open sections.
4

Recently Open

4. Recently Open
A new object is added in the Recently Open grid each time a user opens a Managed Object's Properties dialog, either by clicking on the object's Name (hyperlink) or selecting the Edit Properties... option from the context menu from any place in the application. The object grid displays the same information as in the Clipboard History and Favorites sections.
