Sometimes IRM users need to have to re-import a spreadsheet several times using DDR Import, due to small changes in the data. Using the current DDR Import mechanism, it is necessary to go through the same steps again and again in the DDR Import wizard. In order to enable the user to to save and restore the DDR Import wizard's state, so that the same import can be run again without manually going through all the steps, IRM introduces the Data Import configuration.
The feature works as follows:
There is a separate DDR Import Configuration Manager dialog, which is a typical manager dialog. It supports deleting DDR Import Configurations, but not editing or creating them. It also supports standard sharing functionality, that is, enabling the configuration to be private, that is, visible only to the owner user, or shared with all IRM users.
The DDR Import Configuration Manager dialog can be opened via a new menu item below DDR Import in the appropriate Object Grid dropdown menu.
It can also be opened from the DDR Import Wizard dialog, via a dedicated Load wizard configuration button at the bottom of first page of the wizard:
The Start import button next to it is grayed out until a configuration has been loaded via the Load wizard configuration button. Click on the Start import goes straight to the last page of the wizard, which is equivalent to walking through the pages of the wizard without changing anything and serves as a user convenience shortcut.
Click on the Load wizard configuration button opens the new DDR Import Configuration Manager dialog, which allows the user to choose a DDR Import Configuration. This version of the dialog has "OK" and "Cancel" buttons, whereas if the dialog is invoked directly through the Object Grid, it simply has a "Close" button:
The last page of the DDR Import wizard also has a dedicated button for saving configuration - Save wizard configuration:
By placing the save capability here, and only here, we ensured that partial, non-executable configurations cannot be saved. Click on this button opens a subdialog to specify the Name, optional Description and IRM user classes that will be able to view the configuration:
By click on the OK button, the subdialog closes and the focus gets back to the DDR Wizard dialog. The DDR Configuration is saved and visible in the DDR Import Configuration Manager dialog (as can be seen in the third screenshot).
