This section covers the use case of specifying a new Elevation iiPDF Configuration, while explaining the details about the associated dialogs in more detail.
The Elevation iiPDF Configuration is used to describe and define the content to be included in the Elevation iiPDF Export file. The process of defining a new Elevation iiPDF Configuration is initiated by selecting the + action button in the top-right of the data grid in the Configuration Manager dialog. This opens a blank Elevation iiPDF Configuration dialog, as seen in the screenshot image below, with some basic default data pre-specified:
The following are steps to follow when defining a new Elevation iiPDF Configuration, along with details about specific UI elements.
Elevation iiPDF Configuration Name
By default, there is a "New Config" name pre-entered, but the user can enter any descriptive name for the Configuration. This is the Name by which the newly created Configuration is listed in the Elevation iiPDF Manager for other users who can Edit, Run or View the Configuration.
Selecting the first radio button enables directly pasting Rack object(s) using thestandard Paste button. Selecting the second option enables a drop-down list of existing User Filters, Categories, Area, Grouping or Spacing, which "indirectly" provide a list of Rack(s) to include in the exported file. Selecting the second option enables the Choose objects... button, which opens an additional dialog - Choose Equipment objects, which initially shows only a drop-down menu for selecting one of these types of filtering Rack instance(s):
IMPORTANT: The Choose objects... option is also available in the following dialogs:
Below is an example of the Grouping and Category options (Area and Space options are very similar to the Grouping option).
For Area, Space and Grouping options, the dialog shows the C&T tree of the selected Super Categories on the left (Groupings C&T section in our example) and a list of the selected Super Category instances with a Quick Search box for additional filtering by Name on the right (list of all Grouping objects in our example).
For Category option, the dialog shows only the Equipment C&T tree, also with the Quick Search box for additional filtering by Name
- If the is Public? checkbox is checked, the Elevation iiPDF Configuration can be viewed and edited by any other User.
- The read only table displays basic log information about the Configuration, like the creation and modification time, user that created it, etc.
- When the Configuration is run, if the Save Output checkbox option has been selected, the resulting export file will be saved to Global Console in addition to being available for immediate download. Saving to Global Console allows Report Viewers to download the Elevation iiPDF results via the Global Console interface.
- This part of the dialog allows the user to enter a full Description of the purpose and content that will be exported when running this Elevation iiPDF Configuration.
Run Configuration and Elevation Export Manager buttons
Click on the Run button in the bottom-left corner of the dialog allows the Elevation iiPDF Configuration to be run immediately. Note that this button is active only if the Configuration being edited or created has already been saved.
The Elevation Export Manager button is also located near the bottom-left corner, so that the user is able to easily access that dialog from here.
