Quick Switch Tab

A single Layer per Grouping helps make the feature easier to use, but there are still things that the user has to be aware of and set up correctly in order to have Grouping Layers work as intended. There is a straightforward feature extension that can help with this - the Quick Switch tab. This is a special tab listed as the first one and opened by default in the Layer Manager dialog.

The following screenshot and text explains how it works in more detail:

Quick Switch Tab

Enable / disable Layer drawing by Super Category

1. Enable / disable Layer drawing by Super Category
In the left section of the Quick Switch tab there is a group of checkboxes, each of which represents a Super Category (the same as tabs displayed in the tab set). It offers a quick and easy way to completely exclude certain classes of objects from the current view in the Design World. For example, clicking on the Equipment checkbox will instantly remove all Equipment objects from the current view in the Design World.
Warning Note: To ensure you have the most up-to-date and accurate data, we recommend refreshing the page after making any changes to these settings.

Enable or disable drawing by Cable Geometry

2. Enable or disable drawing by Cable Geometry
There are cases when the user might want to add non-zero length point-to-point "admin" cables, for which the visualization, or the routing aspect isn't a priority. To better support such cases, this section of the Layer Manager Quick Switch tab provides the ability to enable or disable the drawing of different Cable Geometries via checkboxes for each Cable Geometry value. By default, the Plant Cable Geometry is always set to ON, while all the others default to OFF.

Enable/disable selection

3. Enable/disable selection
To enhance the user experience in selecting various objects,  those two checkbox options in the Layer Manager allow selection of Lines, Arcs, Images and BlockShapes (disabled by default) and allow selection of Text (enabled by default). this feature would streamline the object selection process by avoiding the unintentional selection of seldom-used decorative drawing objects.

Set Variety buttons

4. Set Variety buttons
The Set Category / Type / Grouping Variety buttons set the selected variety for all tabs in the Layer Manager (except for the General Architecture tab, as it doesn't support Varieties). This means that if, for example, the Set Type Variety button is clicked, Type value will be automatically set as the current Layer Variety setting within each Super Category Layer tab.
However, not all buttons are initially enabled. The Set Grouping Variety button is initially disabled, until a grouping is selected  from the tree menu below (see item 3 for more detail on this).

Grouping C&T menu

5. Grouping C&T menu
The tree menu represents the Grouping section from the C&T tree menu from the Main Screen.
Clicking on a Grouping enables the Set Grouping Variety button, which (if clicked) sets that Grouping as the selected Variety in the Select Variety drop-down menu in the tab view and will disable all other Grouping Layers.

Note: Only Groupings are enabled for selection, not Categories.
